AvtoVAZ will present a prototype of the Lada Azimut hybrid crossover to its board of directors on September 25. This was announced to journalists by the head of the company, Maxim Sokolov.

According to him, it is still too early to talk about a quick launch of the model into production, although the company has a roadmap. The prototype will have to undergo tests, as well as assess the balance between production cost and market price.

What is known about the hybrid

The hybrid version will receive all-wheel drive. The total power of the power plant is 290 kW, or about 390 hp. Acceleration to 100 km/h will take 5.7 seconds, and the range without refueling will reach 1100 km.

The Azimut will receive a series hybrid scheme: the gasoline engine works as a generator to produce electricity, and electric motors drive the wheels.

The basic version of the Lada Azimut will also go into serial production on September 25. At the start of sales, the crossover will receive two naturally aspirated engines – 1.6 and 1.8 liters with 120 and 132 hp, paired with a manual or variator. A 150 hp turbocharged engine with a classic automatic transmission is expected later.

The start of sales of Lada Azimut is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.
