First-year students of Samara University, studying under the 'Wings of Rostec' targeted track, underwent practical training at the 'Process Factory' of the ODK-Kuznetsov enterprise. As a training production process, students practiced assembling a unit of the NK-14ST industrial gas turbine engine, distributing roles from workers to director among themselves.

During the training, future engineers had to complete the production program within a given time and achieve the maximum commercial result. To do this, participants used lean manufacturing tools, including the 5S system, pull flow organization, and inventory management. The result depended on the team's coordinated work and the ability to promptly apply lean manufacturing tools.
The training process simulated the assembly of one of the units of the real industrial gas turbine engine NK-14ST, produced by ODK-Kuznetsov. The engine is designed to drive the centrifugal compressor of a gas pumping unit.
The engine is a modification of the NK-12ST with a modified flow path and turbine design, and is used in gas transportation infrastructure.
The 'Process Factory' has been operating at ODK-Kuznetsov since 2022. The site simulates the production process and allows participants to see how workplace organization, material movement, inventory, and team interaction affect the result.
