The manufacturing of the second RITM-200S reactor for the PEB-106 floating power unit, which will supply electricity to an industrial copper cluster in Chukotka, has been completed in the Moscow region. The unit has already undergone hydraulic tests and control assembly. The first such reactor unit was manufactured in May and has already been delivered to the shipyard.

The PEB-106 includes two RITM-200S reactor units. According to Rosatom, hydraulic tests confirmed the reliability of the unit, and control assembly showed compliance of the connections with the design documentation.

Now the set of reactor equipment for PEB-106 has been formed. The first RITM-200S is at the shipyard and will later be installed in the power unit hull. The second has completed production checks at the ZiO-Podolsk plant.

Each RITM-200S reactor unit has an electrical capacity of 58 MW. This is a modification of the RITM-200, which is used on Russian Project 22220 nuclear icebreakers.

The RITM-200 is 1.5 times more compact than previous generation reactors. Based on it, Rosatom is creating solutions for small-scale nuclear power.

According to the company, in the incomplete year 2026, ZiO-Podolsk has already manufactured four RITM family reactors, with five more in production. A total of 16 RITMs have been manufactured, eight of which are already operating on the icebreakers Arktika, Ural, Sibir, and Yakutia.

The PEB-106 floating power unit is being created to supply electricity to a large copper industrial cluster in Chukotka. Its construction is part of the program to create floating power units based on RITM-200S reactors.
