A designer from Tyumen proposed a design for a vertical take-off and landing aircraft, in which the lift propeller simultaneously becomes the rotor of an electric motor. The corresponding solution provides for the placement of a magnetic ring at the ends of the blades, while the electromagnetic stator coil is installed directly in the wall of the duct around the propeller.

According to the invention formula of Filimonov Alexander Iosifovich, the VTOL aircraft should receive a lift propeller in the center section duct and several additional fans. One of them is located in the wing, and the other two are in the front and rear parts of the aircraft. The system should be powered by gas turbine hybrid power units with generators, and separate propulsion units are provided for cruise flight.
The main difference of the scheme is related to the drive of the lift propeller and fans. The author proposes to abandon the traditional layout with a shaft and a separate electric motor: the magnetic rotor is integrated directly into the peripheral part of the propeller, and the stationary electromagnetic part is placed around the circumference of the duct.
A separate solution concerns the take-off and landing device. The exhaust flow from the lift propeller duct should form an air cushion under the aircraft, on which the landing gear rests. Along the contour of the outlet, the author proposes to install a collector with holes for supplying compressed air: the resulting jet curtain should limit the air cushion from the front and sides.
