Russia is actively developing a replacement for American Capstone microturbines, which were previously supplied to the country. This was announced by Dmitry Alyavdin, Development Director of the Ozyorsk Power Plant, at the industrial and energy forum in Tyumen.

The company presented the APN-30 gas turbine power plant with a capacity of 30 kW. The unit is designed to operate on natural and associated petroleum gas and is intended for autonomous power supply, including for crane units of gas transportation infrastructure.
My colleagues and I have been working since 2014, and the goal is to import-substitute the American Capstone solution that was previously supplied to our country. We have almost succeeded, but we continue to work.
According to him, the developers cover the range from 16 to 800 kW. Units up to 60 kW are created jointly with SKB "Turbina", and more powerful solutions are based on the Kaluga engine.
After the exhibition, the new APN-30 is to be sent to the Gazpromtransgaz Krasnodar facility, where it will be operated on natural gas.
