St. Petersburg-based high-voltage equipment manufacturer "Elektroapparat" has won a lawsuit for 205.1 million rubles against "Sosnovoborelektromontazh" (SEM), part of the Titan-2 holding, for equipment supplied for the repair of the Kursk NPP. The lawsuit concerned deliveries under a 2023 contract, and the arbitration decision was published on September 8.

The contract was signed in September 2023 for 847 million rubles, of which SEM timely paid 460.5 million. By March 2026, the debt amounted to 374.2 million – the cost of the actually delivered equipment turned out to be slightly less than specified in the contract. After the lawsuit was filed, SEM paid a portion, and the dispute amount decreased to 205.1 million.

Vladimir Bukhin, General Director of Elektroapparat, explained the lawsuit by a payment crisis: according to him, SEM has similar debts, and it is practically impossible to collect receivables otherwise.

Alexander Gobis, General Director of SEM, declined to comment on the dispute, stating that the company plans to always work with Elektroapparat. Roman Makarov, partner at Nektorov, Saveliev & Partners, believes the chances of overturning the decision on appeal are close to zero: the defendant acknowledged the debt and partially repaid it, and the plaintiff did not demand penalties.

Meanwhile, repairs at the Kursk NPP were completed ahead of schedule – 20 days ahead of plan. Units No. 3 and No. 4 underwent scheduled preventive maintenance, and unit No. 4 underwent modernization: the multiple forced circulation circuit, emergency reactor cooling systems, blowdown and cooldown systems, and turbogenerators No. 7 and No. 8 were repaired. After the repairs, the plant will additionally generate about 500 million kWh. Elektroapparat produces 35–750 kV gas-insulated equipment – circuit breakers, current and voltage transformers, disconnectors; a new plant in the Novo-Orlovskaya SEZ will open at the end of September.
