The newest Pantsir-SMD-E anti-aircraft missile system is capable of using two types of destructive means simultaneously. A representative of the High-Precision Systems holding company spoke about the design features of the air defense system.
According to him, this particular Pantsir model successfully counters both aircraft and drones.
Anti-aircraft missile armament can be combined. The standard munition is an anti-aircraft guided missile… and a short-range anti-aircraft guided missile.
It should be noted that the standard full-size missile of the Pantsir-SMD-E is the two-stage 57E6-E. It is designed specifically against large targets such as fighters, with a range of up to 20 km and an altitude of up to 15 km.
The second type of munition is the TKB-1055, also known as "Gvozd". This mini-missile is much smaller in size and is "tuned" against drones. Its range is up to 7 km, and its altitude is up to 5 km.
