Egypt will be presented with a new equipment option for the Ka-52E, which may be of interest to the military already operating helicopters of this family. The complex includes the GOES-451M gyro-stabilized optoelectronic system, an onboard radar station with an active phased array antenna, and the 305E light multi-purpose guided missile. This was announced by Alexander Mikheev, Director General of Rosoboronexport.

This is not yet about an agreed modernization of Egyptian machines. The Russian side hopes to interest Cairo with the capabilities of the new kit, which allows updating key elements of the Ka-52 reconnaissance and attack complex without switching to another platform.

The most notable change is related to the onboard equipment. The GOES-451M is responsible for optoelectronic observation and target detection, while the AESA radar expands the capabilities of radar search and tracking. The proposed kit also includes the 305E missile, which links detection and targeting systems with new guided weapons.

For Egypt, the interest in such a solution is primarily due to the fact that the Ka-52 is already in service with the country. Therefore, it may not be about creating a new helicopter group, but about expanding the capabilities of the existing platform. 

The Ka-52 is designed for reconnaissance, target designation, and destruction of armored vehicles, other ground targets, and aircraft. The helicopter is equipped with electronic warfare and active countermeasures. The machines are manufactured by the Arsenyev Aviation Company "Progress" named after N. I. Sazykin, which is part of the "Russian Helicopters" holding.
