Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has decided to cease services for users from Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan. All three countries were added to the list of prohibited jurisdictions in the updated user agreement dated October 16. The restrictions will affect trading operations and account access, and some clients will have to close positions and withdraw their funds.

According to exchange notifications, starting October 18, 10:00 Moscow time, new trades, orders, and subscriptions will become unavailable for affected users. They must independently close open positions and withdraw assets by October 21. After this, remaining positions may be closed automatically, and account access will be restricted.

Bitget representatives stated that clients subject to restrictions will receive personalized instructions via email, in-app, or push notifications. These instructions should specify the deadlines and procedures for necessary actions. However, the exact scope of restrictions among Russian users is currently unknown.

In addition to Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan, the list of prohibited jurisdictions includes the USA, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, and several other countries. The exchange reserves the right to expand this list in the future. The company has not provided a detailed explanation for including the three states in the updated terms.
