The gasoline deficit in Russia is about 5%, and the situation on the fuel market remains tense. This was stated in an interview with "Vesti" by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak. According to him, in the last few weeks, the situation has begun to improve.

To compensate for the fuel shortage, oil companies are increasing production, importing gasoline from abroad, and postponing planned repairs of oil refineries. These measures should help increase supply in the domestic market.
Novak also reported a global oil shortage. According to his estimates, the deficit is 4–6 million barrels per day.
Among the reasons, the Deputy Prime Minister named the war in the Persian Gulf: some OPEC+ participants cannot increase production and supplies. Additional influence, according to him, is exerted by sanctions, including those imposed against Russia.
