A plant for producing trucks running on diesel, compressed and liquefied natural gas, and electricity will be built in Ulan-Ude. An investment agreement was signed on September 2 at the Eastern Economic Forum, the government of Buryatia reported. The partners are GK "BaikalAvtoTrak" and the Chinese company "Huanqiu Tonglian".

Investments will amount to about 12 billion rubles: 6.5 billion in the first stage, 5.5 billion in the second. The project will reach full capacity by 2036. The first two trucks are planned to be assembled in September 2026. There are no analogues of such production in Russia yet, said the head of Buryatia, Alexey Tsydenov. For the republic, this means creating a new industrial competence: 250 jobs, including more than 50 engineers.

Plans include phased localization and cooperation with Russian enterprises, including for electric motors and batteries. In addition to production facilities, the investor will build an exhibition center, a public space, a gym, and a shopping complex. Agreements on gold mining, the construction of a potash plant, and the preservation of the snow leopard were also signed at the EEF.
