Russian inventor Yury Cheprukov has patented a method for radar detection of low-reflectivity targets with frequency signal separation. The development is designed to detect objects that are poorly visible on radars — for example, drones with low radar cross-section.

The essence of the method lies in the use of pulsed generalized composite signals (GCS). They are formed in such a way that when processing the reflected signal, interference from other targets is compensated, and the useful signal from a low-observable object is amplified. As a result, a clear peak appears on the radar screen instead of a multitude of noises.

As explained in the patent, GCS parameters can be varied within wide limits, which allows the system to be adapted to different conditions. The device includes a transceiver, a signal generator, and a block of matched filters. Signals are constructed based on elements of a generalized Fourier series with intra-pulse and inter-pulse coding.

The development can be applied in air defense systems, radar stations, and electronic warfare complexes, where reliable detection of low-observable targets against intense interference is required. The technical result is an increase in the protection of radar systems and improved resolution of targets with low reflectivity.
