A line of microprocessor-controlled hand and leg prostheses developed in Russia was showcased at the Sakhalin Region pavilion at the Eastern Economic Forum, a TASS correspondent reports.

The technology analyzes human movement in real time and automatically adjusts the mechanisms to the patient's movements. The developer is AO "Russkie Proteznye Sistemy". According to CEO Ilya Semenov, the product line covers all activity levels: from simple hydraulic and pneumatic modules to microprocessor-controlled knee joints. The company aims for import substitution, as previously the market was dominated by products from Europe and the USA. There are only two or three such manufacturers in Russia, and "Russkie Proteznye Sistemy" has one of the deepest levels of localization: its own metal processing, composites, plastics, and assembly.
In autumn, the company plans to launch production in the Tver region with a capacity of 35,000 products per year. In addition, the first educational project in the Far East for training prosthetists to work with such products has been opened in the Sakhalin Region.
