The modernized An-2 with the TRE-331 engine gains qualitative characteristics unavailable to the basic version of the "corn-duster". The biplane's characteristics were revealed by its distributor, PMI Aero.

Thanks to the American power plant, only 50 m are needed for takeoff and 80 m for landing. For comparison, the basic version of the An-2 required 150 and 170 m, respectively.
The commercial payload of the modernized aircraft is stated at 1.5 tons. At the same time, the replacement of the power plant switches the An-2 from aviation gasoline to kerosene, which should simplify operation and increase the flight range by approximately 2 times.
In Russia, SibNIA received the status of the An-2 developer, which has returned 16 previously inoperable biplanes to service over the past 3 years. Currently, the rights to the aircraft belong to Airbus Military corporation.
Also, ODK developed a new VK-1600V engine with a power of 1600 hp for the An-2. This is more than enough for the An-2, as the basic ASh-62IR engine produces 1000 hp.
