The Russian cargo FPV drone "Gruzovichok" has received a new configuration that allows the device to be used not only for cargo delivery but also for reconnaissance. The drone is equipped with a digital video camera with 40x zoom and a high-resolution 640×512 thermal imager.

Representatives of the Svarog scientific and production center clarified that the upgrade expands the capabilities of "Gruzovichok" when operating over long distances.

A key feature of the device is its ability to stay in the air at one point for an extended period. As a communication repeater, the drone can hover for approximately 1.5 hours, remaining in a safe zone. This allows for remote observation and data transmission from a distance.

At the same time, "Gruzovichok" has retained its original purpose – cargo transportation. Its payload capacity is 6 kg. The drone is used to deliver medicines, water, and other necessary goods to areas that are dangerous for humans to reach.

It is controlled by foreign ArduPilot firmware with GPS. It ensures position holding, stable hovering, and accurate delivery.

Drones like "Gruzovichok" can act as repeaters for attack drones, such as "Geran-4". The latter unexpectedly increased its range of application to 900 km. This is only possible with improved radio communication with the operator.
