MegaFon has for the first time tested a domestic payment terminal – the UniTodi P8 Bio model. The device passed about 100 verification scenarios, from connecting to the network and switching between frequencies to operating with a weak signal and after an artificial connection break.

The terminal correctly handled the main scenarios in 3G and LTE. Specialists separately checked the sensitivity of the radio module, throughput, and connection stability when changing network parameters. The results obtained were handed over to the developer for further refinement of the device.

UniTodi P8 Bio runs on Android and supports payments via bank cards, NFC, Volna service, QR codes, and through the SBP. Scenarios using biometrics are also provided. The model is included in the register of Russian industrial products.

MegaFon emphasizes that stable communication is critical for payment equipment: the speed and uninterrupted operation of transactions at retail outlets directly depend on it. UniTodi notes that independent tests will help improve the software and compatibility of the terminal with communication networks.
