A batch of modernized "Tigr-M" armored vehicles has entered service with the anti-sabotage forces and means units of the Pacific Fleet in Kamchatka. The vehicles are equipped with the remotely controlled combat module "Arbalet-DM".
The "Tigr-M" hull has a high class of ballistic protection. The cabin is equipped with seats for the driver, vehicle commander, and troops. There are compartments for ammunition, communication equipment, and a radio-controlled explosive device jammer.
The armored vehicle is also equipped with automatic tire pressure regulation systems, an automatic fire extinguishing system, a pre-start heater, and an electrically driven self-recovery winch. Similar vehicles have entered service with anti-sabotage units in Primorye.
The "Arbalet-DM" is armed with a 12.7-mm "Kord" machine gun and has full weapon stabilization, allowing it to fire both from a stationary position and while moving. The sighting system includes television and thermal imaging cameras with a laser rangefinder, providing target recognition of an APC type at a distance of up to 2.5 km. The module can operate at temperatures from –40 to +50 °C and is equipped with smoke grenades.
