In July, 122.1 thousand new passenger cars were sold on the Russian market, which is 5% more than in June (116.3 thousand units) and 1.2% more than in July 2025 (120.6 thousand units). This was reported by the Avtostat agency, citing data from AO PPK.
Over the past seven months, 730,714 new passenger cars were sold in Russia — 12.2% more than in January-July 2025.
The most popular cars in July were Lada (29.2 thousand units). The Chinese brand Haval came in second (15.6 thousand). The joint project of Defetoo and AGR — Tenet (12.6 thousand units) also made it into the top three. The fourth and fifth places were again taken by brands from China — Geely (8.3 thousand) and Changan (5.5 thousand).
Avtostat analysts also presented the model top. The selection looks as follows:
- Lada Granta (11.1 thousand units)
- Haval Jolion (7.2 thousand units)
- Tenet T7 (7 thousand units)
- Lada Vesta (6 thousand units)
- Tenet T4L (4.1 thousand units)
The popularity of Lada Granta among motorists is explained by several reasons. Firstly, an acceptable price for a new car, affordable maintenance, and availability of spare parts. Secondly, this model is included in the list of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade for use in taxis.
