Yandex registered OOO "Yandex Med" to develop artificial intelligence technologies in medicine. The new legal entity appeared on July 31, according to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities. A company representative confirmed its creation to Vedomosti but did not disclose further plans.

The main activity is software development. The company will also be able to process data, host information, and manage computer equipment. The authorized capital amounted to 10 thousand rubles.

The new legal entity is associated with the eponymous AI service for medical organizations. It is headed by Elizaveta Popova, who leads the Yandex Med division.

A pilot version of the assistant was presented at the end of June. The service deciphers the doctor's conversation with the patient, searches for data in the medical database, and briefly collects the patient's medical history. However, the decision on diagnosis and treatment is still made by a specialist.

At the end of June, Yandex presented a pilot version of an AI assistant for clinics: the service listens to the doctor's conversation with the patient in real time, automatically identifies complaints, medical history, and recommendations, and then generates a draft protocol – this takes about 35 seconds with a claimed accuracy of over 90%. The solution can be deployed both in the cloud and within the medical organization's perimeter.

In addition, Yandex neural networks are already used in research medicine: the N. N. Petrov National Medical Research Center of Oncology implemented a system based on YandexGPT, which reduced the initial verification of clinical trial documents from several weeks to several minutes. The registration of a separate legal entity "Yandex Med" fits into the general trend of separating specialized AI areas into independent structures – the company acted similarly with other products.
