Doctor Talks to Patient, AI Writes Medical Record: Yandex Launches Assistant for Clinics

The neural network will identify complaints, diagnosis, and recommendations, and the doctor will only need to check the record

Yandex has launched an AI assistant for clinics that takes over some of the routine tasks during appointments. The company says doctors will be able to spend up to 40% less time on documentation.

The main module listens to the conversation with the patient, identifies complaints, medical history, diagnosis, and recommendations. Then it compiles an anonymized draft protocol – the doctor only needs to check it and save it in the medical system. This takes up to 35 seconds, with a stated filling accuracy of over 90%.

The assistant is already being tested for neurologists, pulmonologists, therapists, and pediatricians. It can be configured with over 50 fields: from anamnesis to prescriptions.

Two other modules search for data in medical recommendations and the patient's electronic chart. For example, the service can quickly compile previous conclusions or show how blood pressure has changed over the past five years.

The solution can be deployed in the cloud or within the clinic's perimeter so that data does not leave the medical organization.
