Shipbuilders at the Amur Shipbuilding Plant (ASZ, part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation) have formed two blocks for the "Amur" transport dock (Project 17574) currently under construction. This was reported by the company's press service.
The blocks are undergoing conversion and leak testing of compartments for their launching and further transportation to the area where the dock's hull will be formed as a whole.
Concurrently, workers are installing foundations, loading pipes and ballast pumps. They are also manufacturing side and bottom sections.
Another 4 blocks of the future transport dock are being formed and equipped on the slipway.
Characteristics of the Project 17574 dock:
- Length — 177.8 m
- Width — 32 m
- Lifting capacity — 7500 t
- Autonomy — 20 days
Project 17574 was developed by CMKB "Almaz". The floating structure is designed for transporting ships and vessels with a docking weight of up to 7500 tons along the Amur River from the construction site to Vladivostok.
The Amur Plant expects that the transport dock will increase efficiency and expand the range of vessels under construction. Modern technologies and equipment are being used in the construction of the "Amur", the company's press service concluded.
