A group of Russian engineers has developed a radio receiving device for detecting unmanned aerial vehicles. The invention is designed for passive radar, i.e., searching for drones by their own radiation without using active signals.

The device consists of several parts: a receiver, a control unit, a direction finder, and antennas. The antenna system includes two antennas of different types and two modules with noise generators for self-testing and tuning. A special switch allows switching between different frequencies to adapt to signals from various drones.

The received signal is processed by a special receiver: it is cleared of interference, amplified, and converted for further analysis. The key part of the device is a board with a high-performance processor, which includes several computing cores, including a specialized unit for signal processing using neural network algorithms. The board also has a navigation module that works with all major satellite systems – GLONASS, GPS, BeiDou, and Galileo. All of this is controlled by a subsystem based on the Russian "Skif" processor.

The development can be used to protect infrastructure, borders, and airspace, as well as to monitor drone flights.
