Laser counter-drone systems show high efficiency and can change approaches to work throughout Russia's military-industrial complex. This was stated by NPC "Svarog", noting that there are already clear examples of efficiency and the economic feasibility of such systems has been calculated.

NPC reminded that over the past few years, approaches to the economics of war have changed: FPV drones, which cost tens of thousands of rubles, are capable of destroying tanks worth several million dollars. Laser systems follow the same logic – they are much cheaper than anti-aircraft missile systems, such as "Pantsir", and in fact, the production of "shots" is carried out directly on the installation.

NPC "Svarog" is confident that the leadership of relevant departments sees the results of the practical application of laser systems and will draw conclusions about their early implementation for the protection of industrial and military facilities. Earlier, President Vladimir Putin stated that laser weapons should be in service with Russia in the near future, and the Russian Ministry of Defence confirmed the use of laser systems in the combat zone.

Russia already has a whole line of laser systems for combating drones. Among them are "Zadira", capable of physically destroying drones with a thermal beam at a range of up to 5 km in 5 seconds, and "Peresvet", which does not destroy, but "blinds" the optics of aerial targets and satellites.

The newest complex "Perun" from NPC "Svarog" has been undergoing tests since 2026 and is designed to protect stationary objects. Its range is also up to 5 km, combat duty time is up to 5 hours, and the cost of one 10-second "shot" is estimated at only 205 rubles. During tests, "Perun" has already shown high efficiency against both FPV drones and aircraft-type UAVs.
