Russian drones have begun to be equipped with a new laser system, which is presumably used to organize more stable data exchange between devices.

According to one of the most discussed versions, laser receivers operate as nodes of a distributed mesh network. In this case, commands are transmitted not directly to each device, but sequentially through neighboring drones. If one of them leaves the network, the data transmission route is automatically reconfigured without operator intervention.

It is also assumed that control can be carried out through a separate high-altitude repeater drone, which receives the signal via a laser channel and distributes it among the other devices. This architecture potentially reduces dependence on traditional radio channels and increases the system's resistance to external influences and electronic warfare.

There is no official confirmation of the purpose of the laser modules yet, so all conclusions are based on the analysis of published images and expert assessments. If the assumptions are confirmed, such technology could become one of the most notable directions in the development of unmanned systems, allowing to expand the control range, increase communication reliability, and ensure more stable operation of a group of drones in difficult conditions.
