Omsk shipbuilders are completing the construction of two Project T20 push tugs at the PKF Tekhmmettorg shipbuilding and repair enterprise. Representatives of the Ob-Irtysh branch of the Russian Classification Society (RKO) monitored the work.

Project T20 was developed by specialists from ProShip Design Bureau. It provides for the construction of vessels for navigation in broken ice up to 30 cm thick.

The push tugs are equipped with Tarkon-10 oscillating type marine steering gears. The position of the rudders can be monitored using axiometers in the wheelhouse.

Technical characteristics of Project T20 vessels:

  • Length — 20.5 m
  • Width — 6.15 m
  • Side height — 3 m
  • Vessel draft — 1.5 m
  • Power of marine power plant — 411 kW
  • Crew — 3 people

Project T20 tugs, paired with two non-self-propelled ferries, will be used on the Tobolsk — Bekerevo crossing across the Irtysh River.

PKF Tekhmmettorg carries out construction, modernization, and repair of vessels of various classes. The company has a slipway and a slip with an area of 16,000 sq.m, as well as a pier with an area of 2,400 sq.m. and other necessary infrastructure.
