Specialists from the "Agroengineering of the Future" center at Don State Technical University (DSTU) have developed an intelligent phytolighting control system for greenhouses. The lights are integrated into a wireless mesh network (multiple nodes operating as a single entity).

Programmer Igor Usenko stated that the system is ready to use "out of the box." Control is available via computer or smartphone.

The network itself maintains communication between devices, so the user does not have to configure it manually.

The lights support 4 light channels: white, blue, red, and far-red. The lighting spectrum changes depending on the crop and its growth phase. The solution developed by DSTU scientists is suitable for agricultural enterprises, greenhouses, and floriculture farms where it is important to quickly change light modes.

Ivan Naumov, head of the "Agroengineering of the Future" center, noted that wireless lighting control is a step towards the digitalization of greenhouses. The development can be implemented in existing enterprises without infrastructure modernization, he concluded.
