The Chelyabinsk plant "Stankomash" has developed an innovative mine trawl for tanks, which should solve one of the problems of mine clearance systems: to secure not only the tracks of the vehicle, but also its entire path. The documents were officially published in the FIPS database.
The main difference of the design is five knife sections, arranged in three offset rows. Each operates on its own hinged suspension and follows the terrain.
The support skids are hidden behind the knives of the previous sections, so a potentially dangerous object first encounters the working part of the trawl.
Additional knives can cut the root system of plants, and a special spring-loaded wing should deflect mines to the side, preventing them from rolling back under the vehicle.
At the same time, the design is intended for working with buried explosive objects. The knives should unearth them along with the soil and deflect them to the side without activation.
