Astrakhan Locomotive Repair Plant has expanded its locomotive equipment repair program by mastering the medium repair of DTK-417K and ED-133K traction electric motors. The new direction will increase the volume of work performed, reduce service times, and increase the utilization of the enterprise's production capacities.
DTK-417K and ED-133K electric motors are installed on mainline and shunting locomotives of the 2TE25KM, 3TE25K2M, 2TE25K "Peresvet", TEM18DM, TE116 series, as well as their modifications, which are widely operated in the fleet of OAO "RZD".
The development of a new type of repair took place in stages. Earlier this year, the enterprise received the right to perform major overhauls of DTK-417K engines, and now it has completed preparations for their medium repair. This has expanded the range of serviced traction electrical equipment.
Thanks to new competencies, the plant will be able to fulfill a larger volume of orders independently, reduce dependence on third-party contractors, and reduce transportation costs for equipment, which will also accelerate repair work.
Denis Martyanov, Director of the separate division "Elmashremont-Astrakhan", said that the enterprise continues to consistently expand the list of serviced traction electric motors. According to him, the next stage will be the mastering of repair of EDU-133KCH and EDU-133PCH models, which will increase the volume of work and strengthen the plant's position in the locomotive equipment repair market.
