The Scientific and Production Center "Svarog" has showcased an updated counter-UAV system "Svarog-Strela". The system is designed to intercept aircraft-type UAVs and uses artificial intelligence algorithms for detection, acquisition, and automatic tracking of aerial targets. After acquisition, the system helps the operator keep the object in sight, which simplifies aiming and increases accuracy of engagement.
The system's control is maximally simplified: a short briefing is enough to master it, and the main actions are performed via the included remote control. The system is currently undergoing field trials – interaction with ground-based anti-aircraft systems and communication repeaters is being tested. "Svarog-Strela" is operated by a single operator.
Russian troops are actively implementing AI technologies in unmanned systems. According to the Ministry of Defence, up to 80% of fire missions are currently performed using UAVs, and the number of drones with artificial intelligence elements will be multiplied in the near future. Earlier, "Svarog" began combat trials of a new anti-aircraft interceptor drone "Svarog Pro". The device is also equipped with an AI-based homing system and is designed to engage aircraft-type drones.
