From January to June 2026, 2 million 885 thousand used passenger cars were sold on the Russian market, which is 5.5% more than in the same period of 2025. These data are provided by the Avtostat agency.

Among brands, Lada turned out to be the most popular. A total of 669.7 thousand cars of this brand were purchased. Toyota took second place with 300.5 thousand units. Third place went to Kia – 162.8 thousand units. Fourth and fifth places were taken by Hyundai and Volkswagen with 157.9 thousand units and 130.9 thousand units, respectively.

Avtostat analysts emphasized that the Russian used car market has been growing since the beginning of the year. For the period from January to May, it increased by 4.9%, to 2.39 million units.

Experts attribute this to the rise in prices for new cars and high loan rates. And the high demand for used Lada is explained by its affordable cost and the availability of inexpensive spare parts.
