Artificial intelligence will monitor lecture attendance and campus security. As NtechLab's press service told TASS, the company has developed video analytics that counts students in an auditorium in real time and generates statistics for each class.
Company CEO Alexey Palamarchuk noted: the system works proactively. Students, knowing that attendance is being recorded, begin to take their studies more seriously, and the administration receives an objective picture without subjective evaluations from the instructor. If an auditorium is empty for a specific course, it's a signal to review the curriculum and adapt it to the real needs of students. The first implementation is already underway at one of Russia's largest universities.
At the building entrance, NtechLab algorithms compare faces with blacklists and instantly send an alarm signal to security if they recognize an offender or a wanted person. The company, part of Rostec's perimeter, has previously implemented projects in 34 countries and more than 70 regions of Russia, and is now entering the education sector, where facial recognition technologies have not yet been widely applied.
