The Russian market for used electric vehicles showed a sharp increase in June. According to the automotive portal "Drom", sales of cars without internal combustion engines increased by approximately three times compared to the previous month.

The most rapid growth in demand was observed in Siberia, the Far East, and the Volga Federal District, where the number of transactions increased almost fourfold. In the southern regions, sales increased almost threefold, in Central Russia – approximately twofold, and in the Urals – by one and a half times.

Experts from the portal attribute this dynamic primarily to the situation in the fuel market. Rising refueling costs and fuel shortages prompted some buyers who planned to change their car to pay attention to models with an electric powertrain.

At the same time, the electric vehicle segment still occupies a small share of the Russian secondary market. Despite the sharp jump in sales, these cars remain a niche choice for most buyers.

The most popular used electric car remains the Nissan Leaf. In June, sales of this model increased almost fourfold, which allowed it to maintain leadership among all used "electric cars".
