The first stage of the Chernogorsky Mining and Processing Plant (GOK), which is being built 15 km from Norilsk in the Krasnoyarsk Krai, will be launched in autumn 2026. It will produce nickel, copper, palladium, and platinum. This became known during the visit of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko to the enterprise.
The Chernogorsky GOK includes 200 capital construction facilities, including its own thermal power plant. The gas pipeline and engineering networks are being built almost from scratch.
The processing capacity of the complex will be 7 million tons of ore per year. Approximately 1.6 thousand people will work at the enterprise.
The Chernogorsky GOK is a large-scale project that is becoming a new source of raw materials for high-tech industries – from electronics to shipbuilding, aircraft manufacturing, and mechanical engineering.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, digital technologies are being introduced into production. Advanced IT solutions will allow managing mining operations and planning the movement of quarry equipment. With the help of artificial intelligence, risks can be predicted and the condition of technological equipment can be monitored, Grigorenko explained.
The developer and builder of the Chernogorsky GOK is OOO "Chernogorskaya GRK" (part of GK "Russkaya Platina"). According to experts, the reserves of the Chernogorskoye deposit include 359 tons of palladium and 133 tons of platinum.
