A call from an unknown number causes stress in 40% of the country's residents, MTS analysts found during a survey. The exception was the 18–27 age group: zoomers show nerves of steel and are significantly less prone to phone anxiety.
The gap in numbers is serious. While almost 40% of middle-aged and older people (27–65 years old) experience discomfort, among young people this figure drops to 29%. Overall, 32% of subscribers in the country categorically reject unknown calls, and 30% decide whether to answer purely based on the situation. Russians have completely walled themselves off from spam and advertising: 77% fundamentally do not pick up the phone.
To relieve users of the burden of unwanted conversations, the operator is expanding the functionality of the MTS Secretary service. This voice AI assistant can now communicate with couriers, clarifying the address and order details. According to the company, the technology processes over 17,000 deliveries daily, allowing the number owner to save time and nerves.
