A new armored wheeled chassis, the MZKT-690400, designed for mounting weapons and special modules, developed by the Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant, has been presented in Belarus.

The new product is made in a 6×6 configuration and is positioned as a universal platform for military equipment. The manufacturer claims a combination of enhanced protection, high mobility, and the ability to operate in difficult conditions – from off-road to air transport.

A key feature of the vehicle is its armored cabin and engine compartment with BR-4 protection level. The design is all-welded, with anti-splinter internal trim and a suspended floor, which increases the crew's resistance to shock waves during an explosion. Fuel tanks are additionally protected against penetration and fire.

Special emphasis is placed on mobility and adaptability. The hydropneumatic suspension allows for significant changes in ground clearance: in the lower position, the vehicle becomes more compact and convenient for air transport, while in the high position, it increases ground clearance to a level sufficient for heavy off-road conditions. Operation on damaged wheels is declared thanks to the Run-Flat system.

The power unit is built on a YaMZ-536 diesel engine with a power of about 312 hp, paired with a 6-speed hydromechanical transmission. The maximum speed reaches 90 km/h, which is considered a competitive indicator for a protected platform of this class.

Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with a 360-degree camera system and a maneuvering assistance system, which simplifies control in conditions of limited visibility, including night operations.
