Modernized AK-12 assault rifles of the 2023 model, in the design of which powder metallurgy technologies and MIM processes are increasingly used, have been supplied under another state contract. The shipment was carried out by the Kalashnikov Concern, which is increasing the serial production of one of the key platforms for modern small arms.
The AK-12, which replaced the AK-74, continues to undergo a stage of industrial and structural evolution. The 2023 version received redesigned ergonomics, improved adaptation for round-the-clock operation, as well as improvements aimed at increasing accuracy and stability of firing. A special emphasis is placed on expanding the use of new technologies and parts made by casting from polymer composites filled with metal powders, which increases the manufacturability and stability of serial production.
According to the industry, interest in the platform is increasing against the backdrop of its practical application and user feedback. This supports high production rates and solidifies the AK-12 as one of the most mass-produced modern models in the small arms line.
