GosNIIAS Breaks Old Aviation Development Model: Engineers Implement "AIS-T" Digital System

Aircraft software has been moved to a unified platform that controls quality and compliance in the development of complex systems

Russia is implementing a unified digital platform for managing the lifecycle of airborne software and aviation systems, "AIS-T", developed at GosNIIAS. The solution is designed for end-to-end project work – from requirements generation and design to code maintenance, documentation, and preparation of materials for certification.

The platform unifies the development processes of complex technical systems in a single environment. It implements version control for software code and documents, consistency and completeness control of project data, as well as automated verification of the correctness of engineering solutions at all stages.

Special emphasis is placed on supporting procedures necessary for product certification in regulated industries, including aviation, space, energy, and medicine.

At industry events, GosNIIAS representatives stated that the use of "AIS-T" and system modeling tools allows for increased manageability of airborne software development and reduces gaps between design, testing, and documentation preparation stages.

It was also noted that the experience of using the platform was discussed with the participation of PAO "Yakovlev" specialists, where approaches to qualification and assurance of aviation component development were considered.

Earlier, "Perviy Tekhnicheskiy" reported on the prospects for the revival of the supersonic Russian airliner and the actual timing of the prototype's appearance.
