Heavy flamethrower systems (TOS) have become hunters of drone crews. They receive targeting information from reconnaissance drones and then use powerful thermobaric munitions.
A source from "Izvestia" explained that drone control points are usually located at great depth, which is why artillery is not always effective.
However, TOS thermobaric munitions are capable of hitting targets even if they land near the designated target, explained chemical weapons expert Oleg Zheltonozhko. Upon impact, the shells spray an aerosol mixture that penetrates all crevices, after which detonation occurs.
The volumetric explosion munition fired by the TOS has a larger kill zone than a conventional artillery munition.
The most common TOS in the possession of the RChBD troops are "Solntsepyok" and "Tosochka". The range of target engagement raises questions here, because the system is capable of operating at a distance of 6 km, which puts it at risk of being hit by a drone.
Apparently, for this reason, the systems began to receive dynamic protection.
