Factory tests of the new "Molniya" interceptor drone have begun in Russia. It was developed by specialists from the Scientific and Production Center for Unmanned Aircraft Systems of the Tomsk region.
The cruising speed of "Molniya" reaches 270–300 km/h, and the maximum speed is up to 330 km/h. The target engagement range is from 1.5 to 5 km, while the device itself will be able to operate at a distance of up to 15 km in the future.
Primary target detection is performed by radar stations and computing complexes with artificial intelligence elements, after which the operator or system only needs to select a target for attack.
For now, the most famous interceptor remains "Yolka". Enemy drones are already forced to fly much higher due to the threat of destruction by a direct hit to the hull.
