VTB has agreed on a strategic partnership with RWB, the joint company of Wildberries and Russ. The first step will be the acquisition of a minority stake in RWB's digital financial assets, the bank told RBC in response to an inquiry.
VTB noted that the agreements also provide for the possibility of further increasing the stake. The bank sees great potential in cooperation with RWB and declares its readiness for large-scale investments in the development of the partnership.
This is the first partnership in Russia's history between a leading bank and the largest digital platform with a total reach of over 100 million people.
The bank believes that the agreement could become a new stage in the development of the digital economy and have an effect for both consumers and businesses. The partnership will be aimed at developing the retail segment, launching new products, and increasing the accessibility of modern financial services.
