Assembly of the hull of the non-self-propelled barge Project 1520 is almost complete at Zhatay Shipyard

Yakut shipbuilders are preparing the vessel for operation on inland waterways

Shipbuilders at Zhatay Shipyard (Yakutia) are completing the assembly of the hull of the non-self-propelled barge Project 1520. It will be fully ready in June 2026. This was reported by the shipbuilding enterprise's press service.

Project 1520 was developed for transportation on inland waterways with wave heights up to 1.2 m. The barge is designed for transporting wheeled agricultural machinery on rivers and lakes.

Characteristics of the Project 1520 barge:

  • Length — 15.75 m
  • Width — 4.33 m
  • Type — non-self-propelled
  • Passenger capacity — 8 people

The production line was launched at Zhatay Shipyard in spring 2025. They planned to build non-self-propelled hold barges of the "river-sea" class for the Lena United River Shipping Company, ferries, and collapsible bridges. The annual production volume will be up to 10 shallow-draft river vessels of various types.
