Russian kamikaze drones repurposed for air defense

UAVs are being re-programmed to combat aerial targets

Russian military personnel have begun reprogramming kamikaze drones for air defense tasks and configuring initiation boards to counter heavy hexacopters. This was reported by the commander of an unmanned systems unit with the call sign Turist.

According to him, almost anyone can learn to control a drone, but not everyone is capable of effectively hitting targets.

There is an initiation board, we flash it and configure it specifically for air defense tasks, so that it is easy to control, maintains altitude, is easy to operate, easy to maneuver, but at the same time has minimal battery consumption.

It should be noted that the main known interceptor drone in service with the Russian Armed Forces, "Yolka," hits targets with a kinetic strike. Due to its high speed and accuracy, the drone literally crashes into the drone, which allows for quick neutralization of the threat.
