The Russian Geran kamikaze drone is effective not only against static objects with known coordinates, but also against moving ones. Footage has appeared online showing the aftermath of a drone strike on a German-made Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft gun.
The combat vehicle sustained fatal damage — the explosion tore off one of its 35-mm Oerlikon KDA automatic cannons. It was thrown several meters away from the hull.
A few weeks ago, the official characteristics of the most mass-produced Geran-2 were revealed for the first time. Without fuel, the drone weighs between 140–155 kg. With fuel, it weighs from 200 to 250 kg. The maximum speed of the Geran-2 is up to 190 km/h.
Geran-2s are capable of flying up to 2500 km, remaining in the air for a long time. However, there are also new models, such as Geran-4 and Geran-5.
