Sales of new BMW cars in Russia for January-April 2026 increased by 69% to 5,376 vehicles, automotive expert Sergey Tselikov reported on his Telegram channel.
All of them arrive through alternative supply channels, but almost a third of sales came from the X3 crossover – 1,747 units. Followed in descending order by: X5 (902 units), X1 (617 units), X7 (490 units), and the coupe-like X6 (423 units). The 5-series sedan with 388 units was only sixth.
Almost half of the BMWs sold – 49.6% – were produced in China. Another 44.8% of cars were German-assembled, and 3.5% were American-assembled. However, the main surprise was 77 vehicles with the "Made in Russia" badge.
Tselikov suggested that their small-scale production at Kaliningrad's Avtotor might still be ongoing, despite the absence of official supplies.
