"Sarma" Strikes in 18 Seconds: Rostec Presents New MLRS to Putin

The vehicle can open fire without the crew leaving the cabin

A full salvo from the new "Sarma" multiple launch rocket system takes only 18 seconds. At the same time, the vehicle requires three minutes each for preparation for firing and leaving the position.

The head of Rostec, Sergey Chemezov, spoke about the characteristics of the new MLRS during his report to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the state corporation's performance last year. According to him, "Sarma" combines high firepower and mobility, allowing it to strike quickly and promptly change position.

The new system uses 300 mm caliber ammunition. The crew is located in an armored cabin and can fire without leaving the vehicle. In addition, the complex provides remote control from an external console, allowing the crew to operate from cover.

The development of "Sarma" is part of the program for the technical re-equipment of the Russian army. The system combines power, protection, and speed, making it one of the most promising models of short-range missile and artillery weapons.
