Remvooruzhenie to manage Russia's nuclear fleet

Nuclear submarines and icebreakers to come under the control of Rostec's design bureau

The design and technology bureau of the Remvooruzhenie holding, part of Rostec's RT-Capital, has received a five-year Rosatom license to service ships with nuclear power plants. The enterprise can now officially develop documentation for the modernization, repair, and disposal of nuclear vessels – from submarines to Arctic icebreakers.

Bureau specialists are already working on repair documentation for the assembly of three-compartment reactor compartment blocks and handling critically important elements of nuclear systems. This effectively means that the domestic design bureau takes on the full cycle of nuclear fleet support – from design to safe disposal.

It is planned that cooperation with shipbuilders, repairers, scientists, and Northern Sea Route operators will accelerate the implementation of advanced solutions and improve the safety, reliability, and economic efficiency of Arctic shipping.

It should be noted that KTB Remvooruzhenie is actively involved in the repair and modernization of the aircraft carrier "Admiral Kuznetsov". Within the framework of this large-scale project, more than 90 of the bureau's developments have been implemented – from technical documentation and technological solutions for restoring ship systems to engineering approaches for updating key components and equipment of the vessel.
