In the first quarter of 2026, Rutube's infrastructure faced a sharp increase in cyberattacks. According to "GPM Digital Innovations," 82.5 million network attacks were recorded from January to March, including over 100 DDoS attacks – approximately half of their total number for the entire year 2025.
In parallel, cybersecurity systems repelled about 860,000 phishing attacks, of which over 10,000 contained malicious software.
Experts note that the nature of threats is changing. Attackers are increasingly using social engineering methods and artificial intelligence technologies – including deepfakes and voice impersonation to create fake messages on behalf of management and other trusted individuals.
According to Alexey Zhukov, Director of Information Security for the digital assets of "Gazprom-Media Holding," this is directly related to the availability of AI tools that allow for the creation of increasingly realistic fakes.
Additionally, an increase in the technical complexity of attacks is being recorded: the number of new vulnerabilities has increased by more than 11% compared to the same period last year, and the number of new malware samples has quadrupled. At the same time, the attack execution time has decreased by more than seven times, making them more difficult to detect in a timely manner.
Despite the growing threats, the platform continues to develop actively. According to Rutube, the number of active creators has exceeded 1 million – over 1,074,000 users regularly maintain blogs, and more than 2.8 million videos are uploaded to the service monthly.
The "Entertainment" category showed the fastest growth in 2026 – the number of creators increased by 38% year-on-year. In the "Lifestyle" segment, the increase was 23%.
