Breakthrough in Testing: KAMAZ Implements New Engine Diagnostic System

The plant modernized its test bench with a system for measuring fuel consumption and torque

At the engine plant of PAO "KAMAZ", the modernization of the test bench, used to check engine parameters including fuel consumption and torque, has been completed. The upgrade was carried out in workshop 054, where the testing laboratory and engine overhaul section are located.

The previous system operated under high load and increasingly required repairs. At the same time, finding components for the outdated equipment became more and more difficult. Therefore, the company decided to create a new measurement system based on Russian-made components.

Digital LED displays were installed instead of old indicators, making measurement results easier to read. The fuel consumption control system was also updated: it now transmits fuel weight data electronically and features a simpler design. This simplified the setup, maintenance, and repair of the equipment.

After testing, the old system was dismantled, a new flow meter was installed on the stand, and a control cabinet was mounted next to the test box.

According to company specialists, the modernized system has become more reliable, safer, and more accurate in operation. The plant expects that the equipment upgrade will yield significant economic benefits.
