Modernized Mi-28NM attack helicopters have begun to more actively use high-precision LMUR missiles, also known as "Product 305" and Kh-39. Footage of the combat use of the complex was published by the Telegram channel "Bortovoy Zhurnal Voyenlyota".
The published video shows the launch of a third-generation missile at a ground target. LMUR is considered one of the most technologically advanced Russian aviation munitions for army aviation. The missile is capable of hitting small targets with high accuracy, and the operator can change the target after launch if a higher priority object appears in the strike zone.
During serial production, the characteristics of the complex continue to improve. In particular, the missile's range has been increased to 25 kilometers. This allows Mi-28NM crews to operate outside the range of some air defense systems and strike from a greater distance.
The Mi-28NM is considered a deeply modernized version of the Mi-28 attack helicopter. The machine received updated avionics, new weapon control systems, and improved target detection capabilities. The use of LMUR significantly expands the helicopter's capabilities in hitting fortified positions, armored vehicles, and individual targets at long range.
