GT Energo is the only company in the world to implement a magnetic suspension system in power generation. Ilya Kozlov, head of the energy supply department, spoke about its operation.
Such a system is used in gas pumping, but specifically in power engineering, there are simply no analogues in the world. We are talking about the GT-009M turbine.
Our turbines are completely oil-free; the turbine is in a magnetic field. It hangs and rotates in levitation, which eliminates any friction and vibration. This ensures an increased service life of the equipment.
Recall that the GT-009M(ME) is a stationary gas turbine with a capacity of 9 MW. Thermal power is about 11 Gcal/h. Efficiency in a simple cycle is about 35%, with heat generation - up to 85%.
The turbine also uses exhaust gas heat to preheat the air entering the combustion chamber, which significantly saves fuel.
